I still have Dr. Horrible songs running through my head most of the time. I was hoping that it would get me raring to parody another song, but so far it hasn't happened. It's okay, I'm just having fun singing Bad Horse for 2 days straight. I knew I was going to love it as soon as I realized Captain Hammer was one of my favorite men. And now NPH is one of my favorite men too! I had no idea Dougie could sing, but now I'm thinking about watching some How I Met Your Mother. Also, I've got a girl crush on Felicia Day, who I didn't even recognize from Buffy. Terrible fangirl!
In related news, there are some Young Dr. Horrible videos on YouTube that I think would be tons cuter if it was my 4-year-old nephew instead of this kid.
In case you haven't heard the news yet, Harry Potter and the HBP has been moved back to the summer of 2009.

Nano is over. I wrote a lot but I lost steam early on and didn't win. I'm thinking about giving it another go next year. We'll see. Hopefully soon I'll get back to work on some of my other stuff and get posting here again. It's getting a bit busy with the holidays coming up though, so we'll see. Maybe I'll have a Christmas surprise or something.
If I were a good NaNoWriMoer, I'd have about 26,666 words written by the end of today. Maybe more. Instead, I'm a bad NaNoWriMoer, and I'm currently living in Day 7, with 11,063 words. Not shabby by any means, but behind where I'd like to be. I suck at staying on task and not getting distracted by shiny. Or another1stkiss. Or any of my other peoples. Or fandoms... See what I mean?
SO! My goal for tonight is to write 3,334 words, which is the equivalent of 2 days. Then at least I'll feel like I'm making some good progress. You can keep up with my overall progress here. I haven't really worked out the visuals for the scene yet, but I'm sure you can figure out the general idea. I'm thinking this scene takes place after the scene in the Shrieking Shack, but a few days later, when Lupin is feeling better. Sirius has just been hiding in town or something.

NaNoWriMo has begun and like a crazy person, I'm participating. I'll try and keep you all somewhat up to date on how I'm doing as my story is a fanfic and therefore falls into fangirl territory. I may even post excerpts for you all to comment on (like today).
For those who care, I'm writing about Hermione's first year at Hogwarts. What was she doing while she was giving the boys the silent treatment? How did she react to learning she was a witch? Yadda, yadda.
Current word count: 1,055
Daily goal: 1,615
Not bad for only getting in about 1-1 1/2 hours today. I'm hoping to get in more on the weekends to make up for work, etc. during the week.
Crucio, With Feeling:
I have another song nearly ready to go. When Dumbledore was outed I thought it would be the perfect time to post it as it is slash. However, I've been having trouble with just a few lines, so I held off. Now I've promised someone I'd have it up by the end of the week and I still haven't figured out those lines and now I'm working on my other fic. What does this mean? I'll probably post it tomorrow with some crappy version of those lines, which I may or may not ever get around to fixing. Oh well, I guess something is better than nothing, right?
Related to that, I've managed to find a transcript of the episode so hopefully when I find some time (December?) I can actually start working on the script to go with these songs I'm writing.

Tidbits I neglected to mention the other day:
First, I'm thinking of working on a large fanfic for NaNoWriMo. If that seems incredibly ambitious for someone who just stated she's terrible at finishing projects, you're right! Especially considering I've never finished a fic before. On the other hand, I've had this fic idea for quite a while and while I started it once upon a time I lost it when my computer died. This fic happens to be a long one. 175 pages long? I guess that's what I'd find out. So, my question to you is do you think I should/could do this? And if so, will you support me and perhaps push me to stick with it until the very end?
Second, Sunday night was Eisley!another1stkiss and I drove to Madison's Barrymore Theatre to see them. After they were done we grabbed the setlist and went outside to wait. As we were walking out, I thought we passed Boyd, the manager (and father/uncle). So later, as we were waiting for some of the crowd to die down, I saw him walking by and asked if he was indeed Boyd. Which he was. So we chatted for a bit and I introduced him to Jordan (who had wandered off) and they talked for a bit and then we got the setlist signed and had our picture taken with the band. Sadly, we had forgotten our CD so they couldn't sign that too. A little while later it was time for Mute Math to start playing and we decided to stick around to see if they were any good. I'ma have to agree with Jordan and say the show was visually impressive but the music wasn't doing anything for me. So we left after a few songs. Good thing, because it meant we were home by about 12:30, which really isn't all that late all things considered. And I still made it to work on time. Go me!

It's just that she posted Chapter 12 of her Remus/Tonks story The Night Vigil, which I finally read and will definitely finish reading as she finishes writing. HBP Spoilery. Need some proof of the goodness of this? Well, on top of the fact that I'm ALL about Sirius/Remus but I still like this how about the fact that the writing is pretty awesome.
If these strange feelings that burned in my soul every time I looked at you, every time I watched over you as you slept, went unspoken… they could not possibly sustain themselves, let alone grow.
They could do nothing but die.
And then I could go back to what it should have been.
I could go back to...loving you yes, but as a friend, A little sister, or perhaps a niece.
Ah, the angst! Gotta love it. And she's really good at finding the perfect last lines. Beautiful.

I've seen a number of folks joining prompt communities lately, and it got me thinking. While I don't want to join a group, I like the idea of writing a fic based on a prompt (such as my fic-in-progress for almosttomorocco - prompt = chocolate). I also thought it would be a great chance to write for characters/pairings I don't normally. So here's my idea. Each of you get to choose a character or pairing from one of my fandoms (participation not a requirement, but I'd love to do at least 2-3). Then I'll also need a prompt from each of you. Not sure yet if I'll randomize which prompt goes with which character/pairing. Either way, I'll create some sort of table which I'll then use to link to the fics as I write them (which may be a while). I think I'm going to set a cap at 10 fics for now, as I've got my other projects and I don't want this to take a million years.
Everything I write for this will be brand new (not that it would be a problem as I haven't written much yet) and may be a short little ficlet or a full-blown story or anything in between. I guess it depends on where the prompt takes me. :-)

I'm working toward my first fangirl merit badge, and so I've FINALLY watched Say Anything. One of many on my list of fangirl basic knowledge (FBK) movies. Please feel free to help me add necessary movies to this list.
Also, I watched The Producers the other day. I didn't realize John Barrowman was in it before!! He is one fine looking aryan, that boy is.
